About Me

**Please note that I am currently on maternity leave until Summer 2021 and therefore unable to take on new referrals or respond to queries**

I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years' experience working with adults and adolescents (aged 16 and above). I hold a Senior Psychologist role in the NHS alongside my private work, which helps me to stay at the forefront of clinical practice. My depth of experience means that I am able to practice in a flexible way that works for you in order to help you reach your goals, and I offer a free telephone consultation in the first instance to start this process.

I use a range of therapies, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), to work with people who are struggling with psychological difficulties - from severe and complex mental health problems, to those who simply want to understand themselves better. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is a central component of successful therapy, which is why I provide a warm, supportive, non-judgemental space to help you feel at ease. We will work together to identify your hopes and come to a shared understanding of your difficulties, in order to enable and support change.

I aim to help people improve their psychological wellbeing, reduce distress, and to make meaningful changes in their lives. I offer both short and longer term psychological therapy and can help with a wide range of difficulties including, but not limited to:

I provide an integrated approach to therapy as I believe that no one model of therapy can fit everyone all of the time. The main approach I use is cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), however, I also utilise ideas from third wave approaches including mindfulness and acceptance and commitment therapy. I work closely with people to identify unhelpful patterns that might be contributing to their difficulties, and strategies to cope with them.

Alongside my private practice I currently work in the NHS as a senior psychologist in an Early Intervention in Psychosis Service, offering individual and family therapy. I also supervise other therapists in order to help them develop their practice. Prior to this, I was based in a secondary care community mental health team working with adults with a wide range of psychological difficulties including psychosis and personality disorder.

"Chloe was brilliant and always reframed difficult situations in a way that... made me feel heard yet positive"
"I had never had any therapy before and was nervous about starting, but Chloe made me feel completely at ease from the beginning and constantly adapted the sessions so we were working at a pace I felt comfortable with. I felt that Chloe really listened to what I wanted to get out of therapy and all of the sessions were tailored to achieving those goals. I'm blown away by how much these therapy sessions have helped me in such a short amount of time, and I'd definitely recommend Chloe to anyone who's looking to start therapy. She's made a huge impact on my life!"
"My experience of therapy was better than I ever expected. I have had therapy with many professionals over the years and none have been as insightful, thorough, organised, or effective as Chloe. Before therapy, the majority of my mental energy was consumed by worry, and I was unable to enjoy life. I am now able to live life to the full and can genuinely say that I feel happy for the first time in a long while. During the sessions with Chloe, she gave me great insight into the way my mind was working and provided me with practical techniques to tackle the dysfunctional ways of thinking that I had developed. She was able to understand my needs perfectly and develop an extremely effective strategy to resolve the problems I was struggling with. Chloe's strategy was extremely thorough and I learnt a great deal about myself and the roots of my behaviour. Contrary to therapy I have had before, each session with Chloe was well structured, with clear goals outlined, progress measured and weekly homework. Ideas and concepts were introduced methodically and appropriately, and I understood at all times the purpose of the sessions and what we were working towards. Now that therapy is over I am confident that I can maintain my new, improved mental state by drawing on the knowledge, techniques and insights that I have learned. I am extremely grateful to Chloe and feel lucky to have found a therapist who has been able to improve my life so dramatically. I could not recommend her more highly"
"Chloe helped me deal with all my issues and feel confident to go out and enjoy myself without feeling bad or suffering with anxiety"
“I would just like to take this opportunity to thank you so much for all your help over the last couple of months. Your empathy and understanding were so important and so very much appreciated, as was the extra time you allowed me and all the guidance and suggestions you made. Although the sessions didn’t go as expected, many new and important ‘issues’ came to light and without your help I’m not sure I would have realised them and certainly wouldn’t feel confident moving forward with the right strategies and coping mechanisms… Thank you once again for everything”
